The Roping Pen Magazine was started in Florida, by Bronc and Teri
Fanning. After a lifetime of roping for a living, Bronc saw the need
for a roping publication.
The first issue was printed in April of 1992 with intentions of
being a southeastern publication. However, the interest and
circulation quickly grew beyond the area and the need to become more
centrally located prompted a move to Tennesee in 1993 and then again
to Texas in 1998. In October of 2003 the paper moved back to
Tennessee. This time with new owners, John (JD) and Tracy Malone
Hello, Tracy and I are both equine people by nature, both loving
horses and loving to ride. I was on the University of Tennessee at
Martin's Rodeo Team for 2 and a half years before moving back home
to east Tennessee in 1998. Tracy was on the Equestrian team at
Hiwassee College for 2 years, then at MTSU for a year. She showed
both Western and Jumped Fences. We were Married in April of 1998 adn
have since had four beautiful children. Three boys and finally a
baby girl! Our oldest is Brody who is now 9, Cooper is 7 years old,
Tyler is 3 and Briley turned one in May.
We found it to be God's will for our lives to buy the Roping Pen
and have loved every issue of it! We hope to continue to grow and
strive to make this magazine the best roping and rodeo magazine for
our readers!.
Thank you and God
